Olea (Olive)

The European Olea (Olive represents a significant cause of hay fever in those areas in which it is cultivated – the Mediterranean area (Spain, Portugal, Italy, Israel, Greece and Turkey) and in some regions of North America (California, Arizona). After the grasses, olive pollen is the most common cause of sensitisation amongst patients with hay fever in Spain, and even exceeds grass pollen in some areas such as Jaen, Granada, Cordoba, Seville and Malaga. Its period of pollenating is in April-May in the south of Spain and in May-June in the central region
