Fraxinus (Ash)

This belongs to a family of the oleaceae which includes several trees and shrubs though only three contribute in any significant way to the atmospheric pollen load: Fraxinius which sheds its pollen in February-March, followed by Olea (Olive) in April-June and finally, and only to a small degree, Ligustrum (Privet) in July. Symptoms are seen only in localised areas of exposure. There is a significant cross reactivity between the three.
