Research
This Centre was pioneer in Spain in the collection of atmospheric pollen using Hirst type volumetric collectors, located on the roof of the Centre buildings. The counts have been measured throughout the year without interruption since 1973. Also, at present, the Collector Network of the Spanish Society of Allergology is co-ordinated from this Centre and the resulting data are published weekly on polenes.com web page where they can be accessed by patients allergic to pollen.
The Centre has participated in the publication of more than 30 scientific studies in both national and international journals of allergy and immunology.
We have developed an innovative computer programme called Alercon® which automatically registers the patients symptoms with the different pollens measured in the atmosphere.
