Platanus

 (Plane trees)

In cities this is used in large numbers as an ornamental tree. Although the pollen was initially considered to be only weakly allergenic, recent studies in Madrid have shown that at least 28% of patients with hay fever in this city present symptoms of rhinoconjunctivitis and/or asthma which correlate clearly with natural exposure to this pollen
